Jeté [ zhuh-TAY]

A Jeté is a common leap performed by dancers in many styles of dance including ballet, jazz and lyrical.  It literally means "to throw" one's leg into the air in a leap.

Amanda started dancing at the age of 3, and had dreamed of becoming a dance teacher from day one.

She has
studied jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, hip hop and modern. Amanda has been teaching and choreographing for the last 10 years.

She began competing at a young age, and loves to perform. In her years as a student, she danced in competing lines as well as in solos and duets. She has earned numerous regional and national awards in her years of competitive dancing for groups as well as solos.

Amanda’s favorite dance memories are performing at Disney Land, and in Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy. Amanda was also a member of Tappin in the Twin Cities. She has studied with some of the most talented tap artists in the country, including Savion Glover, Dianne Walker, and Lane Alexander.

Amanda has a BS in Marketing from St. Cloud State University. She currently works for a financial planning firm in Minneapolis.

Amanda loves working with the youngest dancers, but has a blast with all ages!
