Jeté [ zhuh-TAY]

A Jeté is a common leap performed by dancers in many styles of dance including ballet, jazz and lyrical.  It literally means "to throw" one's leg into the air in a leap.

Celie Borndal started dancing at the age of 3 in Duluth, MN.  She started competing at age 9 in Jazz and Ballet.  After a family move, she continued studying dance in Plymouth, MN where she danced Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Production.

In ninth grade, she was selected for the Wayzata Trojet Dance Team.  Celie performed and competed with the dance team throughout her high school career, where her team placed top six in state for both Jazz Funk and Kick all four years.

She enjoys the discipline and training of ballet and lyrical, but loves the 'team' aspect of dance team above all.  There is no better feeling for her than dancing in a huge arena like the Xcel Energy Center.

She attended DePaul University for two years and is now back in Minnesota to complete her education.
